In 2016 Bathurst Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) commissioned Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught, to build two LEGO models, one of the top of Mount Panorama – Wahluu and the other of the Mount Panorama - Wahluu Pit Straight. The models tell the stories of the cultural significance and history of Mount Panorama – Wahluu and its evolution into one of the best known racing facilities in Australia.

Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught is one of only 14 LEGO certified professionals in the world, and the only one in the Southern Hemisphere. The models were built in The Brickman’s Melbourne studio over a few weeks by a team of LEGO builders. There are a total of 18 well known stories about the history of the site included in the two models, each created from photographs, track diagrams and local details.

This exhibition was on display at BRAG during the 2016/17 summer holidays and features a custom built table where participants can construct their own LEGO creations.

The LEGO Mount Panorama - Wahluu Model will tour to other cultural facilities in Bathurst in 2017:

Australian Fossil & Mineral Museum: 6 April - 25 July 2017
